Gateway Bank announces appointment of new CCO following C-suite reshuffle

Sydney, 4 March 2019: Customer-owned Gateway Bank has today announced the appointment of its new Chief Customer Officer (CCO), Ritu Sinha. The move comes as its current CCO, Lexi Airey, is set to take up the helm of Chief Executive Officer at the end of March.

Sinha will be joining the mutual bank as CCO in mid-March.

She brings with her extensive practice in the customer experience space from a diverse career spanning a number of industries including Financial Services, Airline, Education and Telecommunications.

Lexi Airey, current CCO at Gateway Bank, looks forward to handing over the reins as she prepares to step into her role as CEO at the end of March.

“Having been at the centre of Gateway’s customer journey for over four years, I am excited to learn from Ritu’s diverse industry experience and apply those learnings to continually improving what we do. In today’s world customers have expectation transfer – they expect best practice in one area of their life to be replicated in others. For example, tracking was something we used to expect from the Post Office, now we can track the progress of anything…our parcels, where our plane is, even to where a dog walker takes our dog.” Airey said.

Gateway’s Chair, Catherine Hallinan, said: “I am looking forward to welcoming Ritu and to see her ideas in action to continuously improve customer experience for our Members.”

Ritu Sinha, incoming CCO, is excited to join the team to deliver continuous improvements for the mutual’s loyal Members.

The latest hire follows a series of executive movements announced by the customer-owned bank last year. This included the hire of a new Chief Financial Officer, Debra Landgrebe, the appointment of the instititution’s first Chief Technology Officer, Peter Buzek, and the impending handover of the CEO position to Lexi Airey.
